Responsibilities were staff development, recruiting and project management. Projects were structural design of accommodation, office and commercial buildings. Insinööritoimisto Mäkeläinen is part of an innovative and self sufficient construction company so I had a great chance of taking part in product development and investment planning concerning structural design.

I worked as a chief of accommodation building department of 9 employees. Responsibilities were project management, staff development and customer acquisition.Projects:Accommodation-office building in Jekateringburg (31 000 m2). Worked as a main structural designer. Main structural decisions and leading a group of 6 structural designers. Concrete and composite structures. Leading BIM modeling (Tekla).Accommodation building in St. Petersburg (12 000m2). Worked as project manager for structural part. I led a group of 4 designers. Concrete and sub-steel structures.Shopping center in St. Petersburg (~140 000 m2). Leading BIM modeling (Tekla).Others: Optimization of accommodation concrete slab structures. Supervision of structural design for different clients. Shopping center renovation of steel structures.

Projects in Russia.Structural designer/Project manager in spa-project in Cherepovets (~4000 m2). P-stage and W-stage design. I led a design group of 2-4 structural designers and designed concrete, steel and composite structures.Ice hockey arena/hotel/spa-project in Jaroslav (~16000 m2). P-stage design. I participated preliminary structural design, designed wooden structures and made energy calculations.

Structural engineering. Industrial building design: Maintenance design of paper factory. Renewal of load bearing structures. Both steel and concrete primary and secondary structures. Special focus on improving processes of the factory.Others: New school in Espoo, Saunalahti; wooden and concrete structural design, renewal of appartment in Helsinki; design for building permission, renewal of industrial hall in Porvoo; steel structure design. In November 2011 Magnus Malmberg was bought by Ramboll Finland.

Renewal of a roof in a 25-flat row house site. I controlled the subcontractors, kept in contact with the clients, raported to the main office of emloyer and participated in construction work.Working languages were Finnish, Russian and English.

Engineer trainee in a goverment funded Finnish-Namibian development project. I recearched the condition of water network systems in two Namibian cities: Keetmanshoop and Ondangwa. I worked together with another trainee from local university and with the municipalties' employees.

I was working in four different sites as a construction worker. The sites were new accommodation buildings and renewal of offices.
