-Manages plant operations by identifying technical and operational problems affectingplant performance and recommends corrective actions.-Within the framework of the production instructions given by the production manager,is in charge of raw mix preparation, grinding, clinker and cement production, cementstorage after milling in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures andenvironment regulations.-Monitors through the analysis of assays of various process stream provided bythe Laboratory, the quality of raw meal, clinker and cement produced andensures it conforms to ISO 9002 standards.-Supervises and directs the workforce in shifts and compiles shift reports ofOperations of the plant by getting detailed information from kiln CROs and FieldPatrollers, Maintenance personnel,operators, and attendants. Ensures good housekeeping.- Frequently visits the various sections of the plant to inspect plant performancein relation to targets. Monitors on going jobs and briefs Production Manager andother Head of Department on the current status of the plant.-Assume responsibility of all factory operations after normal working hours.-Prepares and supervises the firing of kilns following safe standard instruction as perISO 9002 and health and safety guidelines.-Manage health and safety Regulations within areas of appointment.observe safety and domestic regulations with the view to achieving accident freeshifts.- Coordinate all interventions in case of breakdown.-Take over the direct responsibility for the control of kiln and mill in case ofcomplicated situation.-Guarantee the respect of the planned consumption of the electrical power.-Ensure proper use of the equipment in particular to avoid damage-Monitor and report on Daily , Monthly and Annual Plant Performance KPIs- Manage Root Cause Analysis process and implement solutions.

-Operate the kilns and mills safely in compliance with the environmental regulations-Take part in equipment start ups , shutdowns and emergency control following the SOPs-Run the equipment stably following the operating procedures,targets and design specs-Control quality targets to meet customer needs and standards-Troubleshooting of the incidents ,do the RCA,inspect and maintain equipment in order to meet production demands and prevent failures-Maximize production under low cost of production- Minimize downtime by sorting out different production and process incidents by taking fast and efficient decisions and also inform maintenance within shortest period of time to rectify the problem- Take part actively in safety i.e Housekeeping ,attend dept safety meetings ,identify safety hazards and control.-Attend the Area Management Meeting which includes(prod,process and mtce) to review operational challenges and find solutions for smooth running of the plant- Apply POM (Plant Operating Model) tactics to improve operations in the plant

-Ensure that the equipment is properly lubricated at optimum cost-Monitors the consumption of oils and greases for each equipment.- Take lubricant samples from time to time for analysis purposes-Monitors job duration,cost and performance of crew-Monitors and control overtime

• Understand the condition of all plant equipment on in my routes all the time.• Conduct planned first level inspection following an inspection checklist of all plant equipment on my route and initiate work requests (using maximo or hard copy if the system is down) based on inspection results.• Uses the senses of smell, hear, touch and sight as well as basic detection techniques during field inspections.• Undertakes minor maintenance repair works during first level inspections • Monitor critical process sensors, (including process blockages) and detects possible anomalies for all equipment during first level inspection and communicate to Shift Manager.• Participate in (RCA) and corrective actions formulation and implementation.• Responsible for safety and house keeping of the route of inspection and the plant in general.• Co-ordination with Production Operators and Attendants and Maintenance Inspectors to get feed-back on equipment conditions and equipment availability.• Attend the following meetings ( safety toolbox meeting, Production Preparatory meeting, ADAP validation meeting, Daily Operations meeting, Process-production-Quality meeting and Maintenance Review meeting). These meetings are on daily basis.• To perform field checks and troubleshoot all aspects of raw mill, kiln and finish mill systems in compliance with Company’s quality standards and requirements• To conduct running and shutdown inspection of all equipment for defects and drift• To monitor equipment operation and solve problems throughout the Plant as required, including process drift, pre-heater blockage etc• To perform first level maintenance activities throughout the Plant as required in order to maximise equipment operation and minimise equipment downtime• To operate the individual equipment on test mode when such equipment is on maintenance

Areas Incharge• Raw material handling plant(RMHP); Pump house; Steam Dryer; Pneumatic dust ,lime and concentrate conveying systems and Jet pulse filters; Flash smelting furnace; Slag cleaning furnace; Cobalt recovery furnace; Waste Heat Recovery Boiler; and Electrostatic Precipitator ESP.Responsibilities• Responsible for the crew of fifteen people on in the shift.• Responding to any breakdown that comes along in the shift making sure that there’s 100% availability of equipment in the plant i.e hands on experience.• Be in touch with central control room so that any irregularities observed in the mechanical sense are rectified before a problem develops.• Reporting to the manager mechanical and section engineers at the end of the shift on production and maintenance activities (e.g breakdown analysis and observations if any)• Planning and carrying out maintenance on pumps , cooling tower fans, conveyor belts, reclaimers, drag chain conveyors, cooling air fans, exhaust fans, heat exchangers (plate type), vibrating screens, hydraulic systems, compressors( atlas copco) and overhead cranes.• To ensure that critical spares are available on site• To ensure that daily checklists are logged in correctly and that any defects observed are attended to,so as to reduce equipment downtime.• Logging the jobs in the system using SAP.• To ensure that quality of works done in the shift are such that there’s no reworking by proper execution of maintenance schedules.• To ensure and comply to safety standards at work and achieve 100% adherence as per safety score card( zero lost time injury and return to duty
