As part of the initial 2-person engineering team at Food For Education, I was instrumental in enabling the organization to migrate our product from a third-party service provider and scale the platform to 100,000 meals a day. During my tenure, I delivered exceptional results and contributed to the following key achievements:- Developed API infrastructure that supported payment systems, processing over 5,000 Mpesa transactions daily, which increased payment efficiency by 75%.- Created and maintained the Tap2eat core, which supported over 10,000 meals a day, reducing transaction time by 50%.- Built a mobile platform that utilized NFC wristbands to identify students and process meal transactions for Ksh. 15 per meal, with data management capabilities, leading to a 60% increase in transaction volume.- Designed and developed internal platforms to support data analytics, management, and data-driven metrics, resulting in a 40% increase in data-driven decision-making.- Developed a USSD platform to support over 90% of parents using feature phones, improving access to information by 80%.- Managed the data migration of over 60,000 parents and 1,500,000 transaction records to back meal transactions over a period of 12 calendar weeks, saving 50% of time spent on data entry.Learn more about Tap2eat and the impact the organization and its technology are making in Kenya in the following links:https://food4education.org/

As the founder of a Software Lab, I powered multiple small and medium-sized enterprises with software solutions that enabled them to scale with minimized human resources.In one case study, I provided a private staff chauffeur business with a Slack-powered notification system for reminding drivers of pick-up times and staff to be picked up. I also developed a mobile app for drivers that used Google locations and places APIs to enable pre-marked locations for pick-up and drop-off. Additionally, I estimated distances and calculated times to provide an admin with a visual representation of driver performance and availability. Finally, I set up a calendar system using Calendar JS and Google Calendar API to track leave days and automate trip assignments based on available data on the maps. I listed the trips on the calendar for standard notifications.In another case study, I built a portal for a travel business proprietor to list and track user activity, and support one-time or monthly automated payments using Flutter Wave API and Stripe API. I also enabled reminders using email and SMS using Twilio API.

At Kurasa Africa, I worked as a full-stack developer. My responsibilities involved;1. Designing the user interface using Laravel blading template system2. Enabling real-time user interactions using asynchronous JavaScript (AJAX) and functional JavaScript (ES6).3. Developing APIs that communicate with interfaces allowing for real-time user interactions on the platform.4. New feature design and implementation using Javascript, Bootstrap 4, and Laravel.5.
