 Creating logins, database, and database users and assigning roles. Creating the SSIS Packages. Plan and implement backup, recovery strategy. Backups and Restoration of production databases.  Monitoring the database, checking error logs, checking the log file size and free space in the data drives, connectivity of the databases. Creating and maintaining maintenance plans for the databases.  Creating alerts, jobs, operators and configuring Database Mail (If needed). Remove any unneeded space from the transaction log and data files by shrinking the databases. Troubleshooting backup failures. Perform database maintenance tasks-index rebuild, index reorganize. Proactive monitoring of production databases Perform periodic checking of databases with DBCC command for maintaining data consistency and integrity. Review / test / apply all database changes to all environments including QA, Development and Production Servers. Monitor SQL Error Logs /Schedule Tasks/database activity/eliminate Blocking & deadlocks /user counts and connections/locks etc.Daily Tasks Preparing Daily reports like Disk Space Reports.  Monitor transaction log usage, SSIS Packages. Monitoring jobs Update statistics (once a week, but may be done more/less frequently depending on the data)
