Muttnik is a Florence-based collective composed by communication and product designers experts in different fields like: graphic design, communication, Illustration, product and exhibition design. Before them is the nickname of Laika, the famous dog that travelled in the space inside a space capsule. The word is the combination of mutt, english term for mongrel dog, and Sputnik, the space missions program sponsored by the URSS that marked the beginning of the space exploration era.Using their vast experience and the stimuli of everyday life, Muttnik works on visual communication, editorial and illustration projects, with an eye towards cultural contexts as well as exhibitions and companies. Based in Florence, the collective undertakes an exploration through each project; research and experimentation is their foundation.
