Sofis is a mid-sized company that produces valve operation equipment. Main product groups are mechanical interlocks, drive systems and valve position indication. Over 30000 products are sold each year, with an installed base of well over 300000 products globally. As principal engineer continuous improvement my main responsibilities are to improve quality of our products, reduce product cost and increase the efficiency of our processes. With a background in product design and much experience in project management, I work closely together with other departements, suppliers and external consultants to achieve these goals. With the decision by Sofis mid 2018 to stop manufacturing in the UK and transfer the production of SFC products to our factory in The Netherlands, I play a key role in the integration of both operations and the integration and optimization of the different product lines.

Main project is the development of a new valve position indicator, the VPI S/A-series, successfully introduced on the market in January 2016 and including full technical support for the first year after introduction. This project included cooperation with sub-contractors, extensive product testing and Ex certification.
