Georgia Tech Information Security Center (GTISC)I worked as a Research Assistant at Converged Infrastructure and Security Lab (CISEC),a research lab that was part of GTISC. I published a research paper titled “A Crow or a Blackbird?: Using True Social Network and Tweeting Behavior to Detect Malicious Entities in Twitter”. The paper proposed novel mechanisms that utilize the true social network of users, the quality of information produced by them, and their tweeting behavior to identify a wide spectrum of malicious entities. The algorithm, published in 2010, was one of the first to automatically deal with a broad range of malicious entities present in Twitter. Using actual data from a representative sample of 278,758 twitter users, the algorithm identified 5334 accounts that had links to unsafe websites. - Designed and developed a selenium based automation framework and automated regression flows for Cisco's wireless router that virtually eliminated the need for manual testing. The tool I developed was quite simple to use where the users need not be skilled in programming to automate the test cases.
