Michael is a board member, seasoned senior executive, and entrepreneur with more than 35 years of experience with 3 global professional services and technology firms (PwC, IBM, and Ernst and Young). Over that time, Michael has held numerous leadership roles with positions in General Management, Delivery/Practice Management, Strategic Growth, and Large Account Management. He has led services businesses with as many as 1,200 staff, and he has managed professional services P&Ls in the $100-$300m (US) range. Michael has also been part of the integration team for multiple mergers/acquisitions, has overseen the divestiture of a services business, and has built and led the internal transformation unit of a Fortune 50 Technology company. Michael has advised clients across a variety of sectors including government, enterprise technology, Not-for-Profit, and financial services. He has advised for-profit organizations of all sizes from startups (Ed-Tech, Fin-Tech, and Green-Tech), to multi-billion-dollar global companies. Beyond his sustainability expertise, Michael has expertise in complex organizational change, operational restructuring, process improvement, information technology planning, and program risk management. In 2022, Michael founded the Sustainability Services Group (SSG) a consulting firm focused on delivering advisory services in support of sustainability and climate change. Prior to founding SSG, Michael served as the Sustainability leader within EY’s public sector business where he was responsible for developing the strategy, and executing plays, for opportunities related to climate-related resilience, risk management, and mitigation. Michael was also a member of the EY Public Sector Leadership Team. Currently, Michael is an independent director on the Board of a $500m Private Equity-owned company, and is on the Advisory Board of an Ed-tech startup. He has also sat on numerous not-for-profit boards including the Board of the Business Council of NY (which is the leading business advocacy organization in NY state, representing the interests of 3,500 large and small member companies), and local boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs (Westchester County) and INROADS (NY City and Westchester-Fairfield).
