Risk and information are the most exciting and ambiguous concepts involved in the decision-making process. It is amazing how each of us interprets and processes them differently through personal biases ultimately resulting in various outcomes. The quality of decision-making becomes crucial in times of uncertainty and rapid change, which many of us experience today. Therefore, I dedicated professional life to studying risk, information and human behaviour as expressed in diverse fields and applications of Economics. Had spent a significant part of life on a family farm and entered the Agri-Food industry early in the career. Following science and business trends I have earned great respect for the prospects of a bio-focused economy. I am excited to follow developments in value chains going through the primary Ag, mainly Agri-Food but also renewable energy and industrial biomaterials. It helps in tracking the distribution of risks, normal profits and economic rents throughout the industry and in identifying the value of an opportunity with better precision. I enjoy perspectives diversity: businesses, farmers, the investment and aboriginal communities, industry associations, provincial and federal governments. It is fascinating to observe and analyze the same value chain and often similar problems from different angles.Twitter: @Mike_Vorona
