Daily oversight of facility operations for a 500,000 Square Foot campus within the VA Boston Healthcare System, rated by the VA as a complexity level 1A Medical Facility. Responsibilities include maintenance and operations, facility master planning, feasibility studies and management of design and construction projects, which include high technology equipment installations, maintenance and repair of infrastructure and facilities systems including all medical and administrative service buildings, patient residences and commercial/industrial support structures. - Responsible for improvement projects within the health care system to accommodate staff growth and new or expanding medical and/or research facilities. Including coordination, creation/approval of phasing plans and day to day approval of construction activities as they relate to the maintenance of the Environment of Care. - Professional consultant and advisor on professional engineering matters to top management. - Determine the requirements, reconnaissance and location of activities and prepares designs, specifications, phasing/implementation plans and estimates, conceives, plans and conducts work in unexplored areas, creates new procedures of fundamental significance which then influences the actions and ideas of others. - Perform technical/administrative work involving managing, administering, and operating services and programs related to the operation and safety of the facility.

- As Chief of Projects, responsible for all aspects of project planning and execution and of capital asset portfolio for 500,000 sqft medical center and leased properties. Oversaw the activation of new and renovated healthcare facilities, including lease build outs of replacement primary and specialty care community clinics. - Act with full authority in the absence of the Chief of Facilities covering Environmental Programs, Safety, Facility Operations, Grounds Maintenance, Transportation Operations, and Fleet Management for the following programs - Capital Asset and Construction Management , Safety , Industrial Hygiene , Green Environmental Management , Maintenance and Repair , Hazardous Waste Management , Recycling of Universal Waste , Fire Protection , Utilities Management, Central Energy Plant, Emergency Preparedness.- Develop and provide the Medical Center executive leadership and the clinical staff information on the methods, techniques, and procedures necessary to integrate these programs into the mission of the Medical Center. - Provide professional and technical guidance, direction and review of assigned programs, including professional engineering work in several disciplines such as civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, fire safety and safety engineering.- Advisor on facility, environmental and safety concerns inherently involved with the total Medical Center mission. Serving on standing committees of the facility. Contributing to the resolution of a wide variety of facility problems. Involved with long- and short- range planning, establishing policy, and budgeting for the Medical Center, as well as for the maintenance and repair programs.
