Oversaw the detailed design of electrical power systems in overseas military installations. Related tasks included; one-line diagrams, generator sizing, panel schedules, cable and conduit schedules, light fixture schedules, lighting calculations (interior/exterior), voltage drop calculations, short circuit calculations and overcurrent protect. In addition to the primary electrical systems, the projects were designed in compliance with NFPA 101 & 72 to meet life safety and fire alarm standards. Coordination with other trades to avoid and prevent conflicts in the field and weekly conference calls when required. Also dealt with answering RFI’s in a timely and efficient manner and the review of submittals during the construction phase of the project.

Responsible for the detailed design and material lists required for the construction of transmission lines 115kV and higher. Prepare design deliverables for transmission lines including plan and profiles, conductor and shield wire analysis, material selection, detailed design of line hardware, access roads and construction specifications in compliance with safety, environmental and client standards and policies. Operate Power Line Systems (PLS-CADD) transmission line design software proficiently. Contribute to the development of project estimates and schedules; evaluation of design options and criteria for technical merit. Provide technical support to teams of designer/drafters working on assigned projects. Conduct field visits to verify equipment condition and parameters.

Related tasks included; single-line diagrams, panel schedules, cable and conduit schedules, fixture schedules, voltage drop calculations, short circuit calculations and overcurrent protect. In addition to the primary electrical systems, most of the projects were designed in compliance with NFPA 72 to meet fire protection standards and lightning protection standards in NFPA 780. Contributed to LEED building certification according to LEED NC 2.2.
