The White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council (WHEJAC) was established to advise on a broad range of strategic, scientific, technological, regulatory, community engagement, and economic issues related to environmental justice. This council will advise on how to increase the Federal Government’s efforts to address current and historic environmental injustice through strengthening environmental justice monitoring and enforcement. The duties of the WHEJAC are to provide advice and recommendations to the IAC and the Chair of CEQ on a whole-of-government approach to environmental justice, including, but not limited, to environmental justice in the following areas:-Climate change mitigation, resilience, and disaster management-Toxics, pesticides, and pollution reduction in overburdened communities-Equitable conservation and public lands use-Tribal and Indigenous issues-Clean energy transition-Sustainable infrastructure, including clean water, transportation, and the built environment-NEPA, enforcement and civil rights-Increasing the Federal Government’s efforts to address current and historic environmental injustice

The Office of the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is a federal agency responsible for the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of the United States Capitol Complex, which includes the Capitol, the congressional office buildings, the Library of Congress buildings, the Supreme Court building, the U.S. Botanic Garden, and other facilities. The Architect of the Capitol oversees this work, ensuring the complex is safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing, while also respecting its historical significance and ensuring sustainability for future generations. The AOC's role encompasses a wide range of activities, from routine maintenance to major restorations and new construction projects. While serving as an architectural intern, Michael supported a wide range of projects including the US Botanic Garden National Garden, Capitol Visitors Center, House Staff Fitness Center, Library of Congress Offsite Storage, Historic Preservation Projects, and Accessibility Improvement Projects. His work for AOC historian William Allen was published in "Paris on the Potomac."
