Given my background (I was born in Germany) I believe strongly in Privacy and a users fundamental right to control what happens with their data as it is collected by various entities. I took the opportunity to build a new organization from scratch that is entirely focused on bringing Nike's data values to life. I lead a 40+ member team of engineers across multiple privacy and compliance domains. This includes compliance with GDPR, DPA, CCPA, CPRA as well as a multitude of other regulations around the globe.Working in a domain one is passionate about while growing an engineering organization of world class engineers brings tremendous joy and satisfaction to my work life. Having to solve big data problems with half a billion worldwide users keeps the engineering side fun and exciting.

As a member of the Commercial and Military Aviation Software Development team I'm supporting the proposal and facilitation of technology and architecture decisions, in conjunction with the Enterprise Web Development group, for existing and new web applications. About three years ago I got involved in mobile development on Android. I'm Jeppesen's subject matter expert for anything Android related and ported the Jeppesen iOS Term Chart application to the Android platform. I'm currently working on a variety of backend infrastructure to support Jeppesen's flagship product FliteDeck Pro.

Hired as a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain innovative and reliable applications to help the manufacturing organization introduce new product to the factory and to our customers. I am working in all phases of software development and contribute to complex Manufacturing Engineering assignments, working with Test Engineering, IT, and Manufacturing personnel. Among the systems I developed, is a large scale test code distribution system which is being used by Beaverton Manufacturing, Beaverton Service, as well as all of Tektronix off-site service centers around the globe. The system was build with an SOA approach and is comprised of a multitude of technologies ranging from Java Web Start, Java Swing, to Servlets, EJB and JMS, to Subversion, to FTP to name but a few. Other areas of responsibility are on-call support for Tektronix 24/7 Board Build Operations, as well as integration of vendor solutions with home grown systems and processes.

Development lifecycle responsibilities included the ability to analyze business requirements to determine technical requirements, and to design, build, test, and implement applications. My main focus was the maintenance and enhancement of a commercial Healthcare Java web application consisting of 3000+ Java classes.

Sizes ranged from small, quick-hit to enterprise class applications. The 'Paid Loss Management System' I developed was the first application to use Java based web reporting at Great American Insurance. I spent most of my time in 2005 developing the 'Technical Appraisal Program System' (TAPS) an enterprise wide Java web application using latest technologies such as Spring MVC and Hibernate. I was the Domain Java Architect for our development team, as well as a board member of Great American's Technical Architecture Review Board (TARB). I helped to introduce Java coding standards, and was a voting member of Great American's Java Coding Standards Committee.
