4 years ago, I founded Nutrimzuri Farmcare. My move from the banking to the feed industry was pivotal for me as a leader and has allowed me to partake in several roles in some of the most competitive industries in Agriculture with the most recent being the Co-founder & Business Lead at Anansi Farms, a startup that produces alternative protein through insects.Let me back track that, 8 years ago I joined AIESEC, an international student-led run organization. As a university student, AIESEC gave me a platform to hone skills that have been really instrumental in both the corporate and startup world. As a team member of the Incoming Global Exchange, I was able to acquire internship opportunities to 100s of incoming students from other countries. I effectively sold AIESEC's products such as the Youth Speak Peace Project, a peace campaign held in Moi University prior to the 2013 general elections. With the assistance of my team, I increased the number of sponsors to the project from a single partner to more than 5. By the time I was graduating in 2015, my experience at AIESEC had opened a new world of possibilities and a new appetite to take on new challenges. With this spirit, I joined banking as a banking assistant at Bank of Africa in 2015. As a frontline worker, the role gave me the chance to be the face of the bank and gain impeccable customer service skills. By the time I left in 2017, I had diligently served 1000s of customers. In the same year, I joined Lapid, an organization that develops value-driven leaders, where as a Volunteer at KusomaTu, I led the logistics & communication team to organize the most successful charity walk by the Foundation. As the Head of Business & Marketing Lead at Nutrimzuri, I have grown the company’s clients six-fold over the last 4 years with a similar increment in sales. Through my analytical skills, I have been able to identify some of the most challenging problems in the feed industry and come up with a solution to the "high protein cost" challenge through Anansi, a company I co-founded 1 year ago.At Anansi, I have led my team to achieve several milestones key among them being development of inhouse production technologies. The experiences I have had so far have made me realize how excited I get working as a team leader and developing solutions. Having worked in different entities for the last 8 years in different roles, I have become great at adapting to different working environments and I look forward to more exciting engagements that will help solve some of the most pressing challenges of our time.
