At the United Nations Development Programme in Cambodia, I provided technical and program support for a $2.5 Million Sweden funded project on environmental sustainability and a $3.1 million Japan funded project on marine plastic waste. Additionally, I provided overall support to the office’s policy and innovation unit including managing core funding from HQ. My responsibilities fell into three main categories: research and policy analysis, partnership building, and program management.

At Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia Siem Reap Campus, I planned, prepared, and conducted a Masters level course on Research Methodology. For almost all of my students, this was their first experience conducting primary research. I guided them in developing their research question, writing a literature review, and choosing the correct methodology for answering their research question. Based on the school's requirements I developed my own curriculum for this course.

STT is an urban rights NGO based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. For this project, I developed a waste management booklet for urban poor communities as one third of urban poor communities still do not receive proper waste management services. This booklet was designed with input from members of the communities and interviews with local experts. The content, produced in English and Khmer, reviewed the rights of community members outlined in local legislation, recommended strategies for advocating for better waste management services, and reviewed the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle).

Naga Earth is a social enterprise that upcycles waste into products that can be used throughout the tourism industry. They make biodiesel and soap from used cooking oil and coasters from used straws. As a Sustainability Consultant, I supported the development of business model design for a new soap program, drafted marketing materials, and supervised international volunteers.

At the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the main employment statistical agency for the United States, I managed a system of firewalls that allowed employees to access sensitive data from offsite so there was never a lapse in work output even during emergencies. I documented and reported hundreds of sensitive data breaches to senior staff. Based on these reports I analyzed years of data and recommended remediation strategies. I also audited Bureau computer security controls to find areas for improvement. After noticing a backlog of computer folder cleanups, I organized the office cloud database to allow easier and more productive access to documents.

During my time in the Peace Corps, an organization aimed at promoting world peace and friendship, I was involved in many tasks. My primary assignment was to teach English as a second language to over 1000 students in a rural Cambodian school and develop new teaching techniques alongside local counterpart teachers. In my free time and at the request of my school director I oversaw the financing and construction of four new bathrooms through a USAID grant. Since the female school population did not have a formal sports program I worked with several female students to found and coach the school’s inaugural girls’ soccer team. In just one year we had over 20 players. I also managed two leadership camps for over 120 rural students to engage in extended learning and developed a school fitness program for over 70 students with yoga as a core focus.
