Trained and worked in the commercial sector as a Technical Illustrator. Completed a PhD and postdoctoral molecular genetics research in four top academic bioscience centres in the UK and Canada. Worked in research administration with the Wellcome Trust, a global charitable foundation. Moved to a senior management role with the newly-formed Dublin Molecular Medicine Centre in 2003.Most recently Head of Education and Development with Clinical Research Development Ireland (CRDI, a non-profit academic partnership; formerly Molecular Medicine Ireland), an Investigator in CÚRAM, SFI Research Centre for Medical Devices and a Co-Director of Wellcome-HRB Irish Clinical Academic Training. My CRDI position was made redundant in May 2020, in advance of ending the partnership.Strong research and technology background, combined with strategic leadership skills developed in complex dynamic work environments.
