Currently, I am the director of bands at United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois, where I have been for the past seven years. Prior to this position, I served as the director of bands at North High School in Bakersfield, California. In my role, I oversee a number of ensembles, including the concert band, symphonic band, marching band, basketball pep bands, and music theory classes. Our school has a strong tradition of excellence in music, with numerous invitations to perform at prestigious events.As a performer and conductor, I have a wealth of experience working with various ensembles. I have arranged music for groups such as the Golden Empire Drum and Bugle Corps, Conquest Drum and Bugle Corps, and the Bronco Marching Band of Western Michigan University. I am also a skilled brass musician, with the euphonium and trombone as my primary instruments. In addition to my work as a band director, I have maintained a private brass studio, teaching up to 20 students per week.I believe that music is a powerful tool for bringing people together and creating a sense of community. As such, I am committed to promoting diversity and equality within my program. I strive to provide equal opportunities and support for all students, regardless of their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ability, or socioeconomic status. By valuing and honoring the unique experiences and perspectives of all of my students, I hope to create a more harmonious and inclusive world through music.Outside of music and education, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, photography/videography, and exploring new technology. I am also a member of several professional organizations, including the National Band Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the Illinois Music Education Association.
