A Mechanical Engineer (University of Zambia, 2004) turned Business Development Expert (Cavendish University, 2007), Mwenda is currently the Co-Founder and Managing Director at AnChiCon Limited, which founded in November of 2011.He was business manager for the UN Award Winning Project; Community Markets for Conservation (COMACO), under the Wildlife Conservation Society from 2008 to 2011, prior to which he was the Projects/IT Consultant at HURID for five (5) years.In addition to these, he was also a Senior Associate Consultant at Newton Lungu and Associates, and, a part-time lecturer at the Zambia College of the Built Environment, lecturing in Entrepreneurship, and, in Business Communication Skills.Mwenda has undertaken various assignments with international and local organisations like; China Jiangxi Corporation (China), UNICEF, Catholics Relief Services, Intelligent Mobility Solutions (Austria and Zambia), Willemen Groep (Belgium), GIZ (formerly GTZ), DANIDA, the Royal Swedish Embassy (Zambian Embassy), Vision RSM (South Africa), China Geo Engineering Corporation (China), Munich Advisory Group (Zambia), AKIO Capital (UAE) and Ministry of Local Government (Zambia). These assignments have led to him specialising in expertise such as; project management (planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation), business management (both existing and green-field projects), financial management. Further, with experience of working with both the public and private sector, Mwenda has realised the potential of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in achieving both development objectives (public sector) and financial growth (private sector). Mwenda has developed PPP projects in the following sectors; roads, health, international trade, local trade, sports, governance and hospitality.Mwenda is a result-oriented person, who takes a holistic approach to all his work. He thinks segmented analysis of a situation leads to scenarios where one implements projects with little (relative to the effort put in) or even negative impact on the overall picture.
