Starting in 2014 I rebuilt the Plant Assessor product from the ground up into an AngularJS single page application that connects to a C# WebAPI. During this rebuild we radically changed the user experience to be machine centric and this became the platform for an entire fleet management tool. As a result of using the right technologies in the right way we were able to rapidly develop a suite of complimentary features including daily pre-op checklists, project location fleet management and contractor document management.The product features cutting edge web page technologies such as real-time updates, offline capabilities, client side reporting, geolocation services, modern UX principles and powerful analytics. Working collaboratively in a small team, we developed a site reporting system for Rio Tinto mines in the Hunter Valley. Its key modules include Production Reporting, Delay Accounting, Dashboards and Data Warehouse (OLAP) reporting. Utilising modern technologies including Silverlight (MVVM Pattern), .NET 3.5, SQL Server (SSDB and SSAS), Web Services (REST) and OPC we delivered an easy to use and intuitive solution giving our client real time access to their plant metrics with a sleek and modern appearance. I had significant involvement in the architecture, design and implementation of the entire project and envisioned a unique data warehouse OLAP reporting implementation, utilising dynamic cube generation and web based OLAP tools to provide a powerful data analysis tool. By using drill down, filtering and grouping techniques users are able to focus on data analysis rather than fixed reports, giving insight and visibility to a huge array of plant metrics. Developing bespoke software solutions for our clients, I worked with a large variety of technologies and developed excellent problem solving skills. While studying at the University of Newcastle, I worked part time and completed my UNISS work placement obligations with Computer Systems Australia. Primarily working with various Hunter Valley mine sites I developed and maintained several Lotus Notes work-flow applications. I also completed the required training and obtained the appropriate Lotus Notes certifications.
