Co-Founder of CleanPlanning, a software solution designed for service voucher companies in Belgium. CleanPlanning focuses on automating administrative and planning processes, with the goal of boosting operational efficiency. The platform also enhances communication between customers and cleaning professionals, ensuring a smoother and more streamlined experience for all parties involved.

I’m end-responsible for the technology, cloud infrastructure, architecture, and software development strategy within the mateco group with +-3000 FTE's and 1 bilion EUR in revenue. 
In this function I’m also responsible for the operational management of the expert IT teams of the ‘Architecture & Technology’-department.In the lead of initiatives such as our data platform initiative to enable generating more business value using AI/ML, and the new global cloud infrastructure setup. Also responsible for Security of the mateco group together with Infrastructure Manager and CIO.

As Head of Architecture & Tribe Lead I'm responsible for several IT teams (+- 30 FTE's) that each have their own focus:- Solution Architects- Cloud Infrastructure (GCP & Azure)- MASQ & Integration teams (= 2 Software Delivery Teams using Java/Spring/Kafka)- Document Template Team Next to these teams I'm also in charge to improve the non-functional Product KPI's (security, stability, performance & maintainability) of our entire IT platform. Both for custom build applications as for the ERP Dynamics 365 FO. This is done by setting guidelines and rules for the delivery teams to implement, and by measuring the results. From within my role I'm also manage the contracts with several of our suppliers such as Google, Auth0, Confluent Kafka, etc.

- Building the mateco-IT company and make sure the rapid growth is handled (from 0 > 200 FTE’s in a few years) - Also responsible for several delivery teams (max 70 FTE’s) within domains such as service, trade, digital business, etc. which contained both internal and customer-facing applications and a combination of Microsoft D365 delivery teams and custom app development teams using Java/Spring/Angular/Kafka.

My responsibilities were to help TVH/mateco go through an Agile transformation and to improve the delivery of the rapidly growing IT department. Next to the focus on the entire organisation, I was also the Scrum Master and Technical Lead of 2 software delivery teams.

My job was to make sure we could deliver the new editorial platform, used for both online and print media. A big challenge was to migrate thousands of users from different editorials offices in Belgium and the Netherlands towards the new system, while keeping integrations with the old system up and running to prevent a big bang approach.We were working with more than 40 people split across 5 Scrum teams. With so many people working on the same product, releasing software on production was a challenge due to integration problems and deploy complexity. To fix this, my team created a Continuous Deployment pipeline that allowed us to go to production multiple times a day. I also introduced this way of working at other locations: Kobbegem, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.Another part of my responsibilities was to coach Scrum Masters, by helping them face-to-face and by sharing my experiences in the Agile Guild.Tech stack & tools: Microservice architecture using Java 8, Spring Boot, MongoDB, Jenkins, Jira & Confluence

I was the Scrum Master responsible for the teams that were creating and maintaining more than 40 mobile apps, including some of the most popular Android and iOS news applications in Belgium and the Netherlands. All of those apps had to be updated on a regular basis, while maintaining high quality standards. It was also my job as to coach & evaluate the team members and hire extra consultants when needed during projects such as the FIFA World Cup.

In this period we started going through an Agile Transformation using Scrum within the teams. Apart from helping everybody adapt the Agile values, I was also the technical lead for projects assigned to our team. Those projects were Java web applications that are a part of the editorial systems which contain everything that is needed to create newspapers.

I started at De Persgroep as a consultant working on the Java backend and HTML/CSS/JavaScript frontend of web applications. Next to the technical aspects of the project, it was also my job to talk to the business and translate their needs to features in the application, to design those features, and finally, to demonstrate the delivered work to the managers and the future users of the application.

I created a web application that made it possible to automatically create, send and manage personalized emails, based on user interests and current available offers.

During college I created websites using PHP/MySQL. In one of them I published the funniest pictures I received by mail from friends and family. This started as a small hobby project, and quickly expanded to a popular site that reached up to 35,000 unique visitors per day.
