About Michael Wignall

I'm a web developer with many years of industry experience. Working for small agile companies means I'm confident working in all parts of the project lifecycle, be it requirements gathering, planning, database design, prototyping, front-end and back-end work.As a developer I'm strong with HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript & jQuery, I pride myself on being able to create fast-loading mobile-first responsive websites. As a back-end developer I spent the first few years of my career with PHP, MySQL, Wordpress and CodeIgniter creating sites for typically small businesses as well as maintaining legacy systems using Kohana or custom-built frameworks.For the last few years I've lead an agile, remote team working with Ruby on Rails to create complex healthcare websites. I'm well versed in Behaviour Driven Development using cucumber and capybara to create well-tested code, we use Continuous Integration software (Gitlab) to deploy updates with zero downtime.
