Thesis: Improving Emotion Recognition in Individual Speakers via Confidence Calibration. •Used temperature scaling to calibrate deep learning models to improve emotion recognition in individual speakers using German and English data. •Defended March 11th, 2022.

-PRECISE4Q project: creating multi-dimensional data-driven predictive simulation computer models to enable personalized stroke treatment.•Used heterogeneous data from Spanish and Catalan.•Built a system for temporal relation extraction using rule-based and machinelearning-based methods using Python, BERT, and PyTorch.

–FACTS: Florida Annotated Corpus for Translational Science• Created synonym lists, annotations in BRAT, and a Python script for extracting bloodpressure values from case reports using regular expressions• Consists of 20 case reports about hypertension that have been annotated withclasses from several ontologies, including the Vital Sign Ontology, the Drug Ontology, andthe Symptom Ontology.

Created a speech recognition system from pre-recorded WAV files using Python in order to improve customer-machine relations. Goal is to detect user emotions through their speech and have the system respond accordingly.

University Of Florida

Updated the website for the UF Computational Linguistics Club. Primarily edited a HTML file using Sublime Text, and then pushing changes to the club's Github account.

Taught a section of Intro to Engineering for the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Florida. I gave an overview of the department; some of the research areas, some of the professors, and the benefits of being an engineering major at UF. After, I showed them a demonstration of circuitry with makey-makey, and then let them play with robots.

Research intern for the 2016 BeSt evaluation. •The 2016 BeSt evaluation is a comparison of the sentiment and belief detection capabilities of different human language technologies. •The evaluation is interested in identifying sources, attitudes, and targets of mental attitudes from discussion forum data. •Worked with English and Spanish data. Worked with IHMC's team on DARPA's DEFT program.

Managed funds for Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Responsible for knowing how to request student government funds and the guidelines to do so. Kept track of both student government funding as well as money received from sponsorships and donations.

Official liaison between the Benton Engineering Council and Women in Electrical and Computer. Primarily attended BEC meetings, and relayed information if necessary to WECE. Supervised the WECE chair for Engineer's Week.
