We continued development of the Photon fluid system for the CAPSTONE mission, producing a qualified system in two years. The pathfinder mission was successfully launched on June 28, 2022 and the CAPSTONE spacecraft is still in lunar orbit. In my final months at Rocket Lab I worked on the design of the RCS system for NASA funded ESCAPADE mission. A pair of spacecraft developed to study the martian magnetosphere, launch planned in 2024

For two years I shared the lead of Electron integration and checkouts at Rocket Lab's Launch Complex 1 in Mahia. Including payload integration, high level vehicle checkouts, vehicle readiness.Early 2020 the CAPSTONE moon mission kicked off, I led development of the Photon fluids and RCS systems. We fully developed and qualified an RCS system and components in-house, for testing on the Pathstone mission in March 2021. I worked closely with a design engineer and technician to bring this system from concept to FLIGHT ready in 12 months.In parallel, we were also developing the rest of the fluids system for CAPSTONE including fluidic components and propellant management systems.

As a test engineer, I gained a lot of hands-on experience with the Electron hardware. Planning and performing testing on structures, mechanisms and fluid systems. Working in a very high pace hardware rich environment, we would usually design and build our own test hardware in-house.I performed random vibration testing on all Electron components, other environmental loads testing, fairing jettison testing, payload deployment testing and fluid component characterisation.
