The main objective of this project was to examine whether an opportunity for clinicians to adjust the dosage of medicine on their patients’ implanted drug pumps, without their patients having to physically be at the hospital could be made through implementation of a PRO-data solution. The second objective was to examine what benefits and disadvantages a PRO-data solution would provide for clinicians and patients in this context. With the use of a treatment diary build upon the concepts of PRO-data and goal oriented care, this study was able to create an opportunity for clinicians to decide, whether an adjustment in the dosage of medicine on their patients’ implanted drug pumps were necessary, without their patients having to physically be at the hospital. This study further concludes, that the treatment diary assists the patients in remembering important details about their health, and that the treatment diary creates a more individualized treatment for each patient.Achieved Grade: 12 (A)

Three weeks internship at Diagnostic Department. The internship included: - Introduction to the department.- Introduction to the different types of paraclinical examinations; Sonography, DAT, CT, DEXA, scintigraphy etc.- Working with the radiographs managing the CT- and MR-scanners. - Introduction to the various IT challenges in the department. - Managed a project with the goal to convert the output received by a pulmonary function test device from a jpeg image and a txt file to a DICOM image. To reach the goal I programmed a piece of software in Matlab that converts .jpeg images into DICOM images, writes the necessary information from a .txt file to the DICOM header and uploads the DICOM image to a given PACS server.The program was tested with real data (I took the lungfunction test myself), and the DICOM image was successfully uploaded to the PACS server with the correct information.
