Marc graduated from the Universities of Lucerne (B.A.) and Bern (J.D./Ph.D) and is admitted to practice before all courts in Switzerland. He regularly represents clients in all trademark prosecution matters as well as opposition proceedings and cancellation actions before the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property and the Swiss Federal Administrative Court. Marc is also representing clients in domain name dispute proceedings before WIPO.Marc's trademark practice ranges from conducting availability searches, filing and prosecution of Swiss and international trademark applications to advising in infringement and passing off cases, providing consultancy with respect to the use of geographical indicators as well as and anti-counterfeiting strategies. Marc has also vast experience in trademark matters outside of Switzerland and managed opposition cases and conducted major trademark transactions in over 100 jurisdictions. In addition to his trademark practice, Marc advises regularly on copyright and contractual matters, including co-existence, settlement, assignment, license, sponsoring and event agreements.Before joining Isler & Pedrazzini as an associate attorney in the trademark department and becoming a partner of the firm, Marc has worked as an associate with a long-established and renowned Swiss intellectual property boutique law firm, clerked at the Commercial Court of the Canton of Bern and enforced criminal law at the District Attorney's Office of the Canton of Aargau. He was also a research fellow with a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) founded research project focusing on third party liability in Intellectual Property Law and served as a teaching assistant to Prof. Cyrill P. Rigamonti. During that time, Marc wrote a doctoral thesis on the enforcement of Copyrights in the Internet.
