Line manager for between five to seven teams of student mentors. As an escalation point for these teams I was responsible for providing advice, support and direction, in order to assist them in determining the best way to deal with student issues.
Development And Alumni Assistant (Maternity Cover)
The majority of this role was split between maintaining the database of over 45,000 alumni records on The Raiser’s Edge database including exact data entry and data segmentation through queries, and working on the annual Telephone Campaign to raise funds for the annual fund. I was responsible for scheduling the caller rota, processing gifts and dealing with the considerable amount of daily administration created by the campaign. I have also been shadowing and assisting the fundraising managers and studied the fundamentals of Trusts and Foundations applications as well as individual giving. I undertook prospect research for low level donors and assisted in organising the annual fund stewardship event.I was responsible for organising the regular Open Evening alumni volunteers and have grown this area of involvement to include placing alumni with departments as well as on the Alumni & Development stand. I was also in charge of the student volunteer recruitment, including short listing and interviewing candidates for the roles, and then supervising their workload each week. As well as sourcing content and creating the alumni e-newsletter, I also facilitated the creation of a new, updated design to make it more accessible. I use Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Word and Excel) at a very advanced level on a daily basis. I am very proficient on social media sites and currently run the twitter feed and facebook page for the Development and Alumni team.
Faculty Administrator (Ug & Pg)
My main responsibilities included small scale project management and organising a series of talks, visiting speakers and social events for the Undergraduate students. I designed and created all the publicity for these events using Adobe Photoshop.I was also in charge of website maintenance and creating copy for the Undergraduate pages. I set up and ran the Facebook and Twitter sites for the department. I organised and minuted several committees, managed all academic assessments and marking, facilitated the administration for Open Days and UCAS Days for the department, had responsibility for all student queries and monitored undergraduate attendance. I also took charge of all undergraduate responsibilities during an extremely intense and busy exam period and registration week when my line manager was absent.
Postgraduate Administrator
In this role I was partly a receptionist for the whole school and for the postgraduate office as well as taking on projects and data related tasks to improve systems and student satisfaction. My key roles were direct interaction with student queries, attendance monitoring, data processing and presentation, minute taking and secretary for various meetings and administrative support to programme administrators. I also used Microsoft Office more extensively than before and had training from the IT department to strengthen my skills. I was also trained on, and quickly learnt to use, academic software called Gradebook and Infoview.
