As the Senior Director of Human Capital Services at Durban University of Technology (DUT), I oversee all aspects of human resources functions, including recruitment, transformation, employment equity and inclusion, staff diversity, compensation and benefits, staff data management, organizational and skills development, and employee discipline. I have more than 20 years of experience in human resources management, with a focus on employee relations, organizational development, and dispute resolution.I hold a Master of Laws degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and an Advanced Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the University of Pretoria and the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa. I am passionate about people development, transformation and inclusion, and compliance with laws and processes. I have successfully negotiated and concluded collective agreements with representative unions, ensured the peaceful resolution of disputes, and provided strategic advice to senior management on employee relations matters. My mission is to foster a positive and inclusive work culture at DUT that supports the institutional goals and objectives.
