I am skilled in providing critical support both in and out of detention, as well as teaching ELA and citizenship classes. I am passionate about public service and committed to promoting social justice and equitable access to vital resources. I have a track record of working and connecting with nonprofits, faith-based organizations, the City of Tacoma, and the larger community. I have a background in translation, management, nonprofit work, and delivering impactful community presentations, highlighting my dedication to collaborate effectively with organizations across a multitude of sectors. I have had the privilege of empowering immigrants and refugees from dozens of countries around the world. My experience providing services to those in detention and upon their release and teaching citizenship and English classes have further evolved my cross-cultural communication skills. Throughout my professional experience, I have cultivated a deep level of understanding surrounding the legal, linguistic, and cultural hurdles faced by our immigrant communities.
