I completed my inter-provincial certification as a Journeyman Construction Electrician in 2010, and received my Alberta Master Electrician certification in 2015. I have a broad range of experience across the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. I am an innovative team player, who stays current with the latest in industry standards, technologies, and products. During my four years with International Crowd Management, I operated as a highly trained security professional, specializing in: crowd management, covert security, and advanced technical security. I worked closely with local law enforcement professionals, event management, and site security teams to provide real-time threat analysis, risk management, and incident response. I was also responsible for the installation of the company's technical security offerings. In 2011, I started with Techmation Electric & Controls in the Alberta oil & gas sector; and, spent four years working on industrial projects. I was responsible for leading electrical teams, performing quality assurance inspections, mentoring apprentices, manufacturing industrial control panels, maintaining up-to-date project documentation, and ensuring projects were completed on time and on budget.Since 2017, I have worked with the electrical team at Tolko Industries' High Level Lumber Division. An experienced member of the maintenance team, I support operations across the entire site. My primary focus is maintaining operational 'up time' through preventative & predictive maintenance, routine inspections, troubleshooting, and identifying opportunities for improvement. I consistently bring new ideas to the table, am a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, and am well-known for my attention to detail, ability to troubleshoot, and easy-going nature. So that's all the boring work-facts, but who am I as a person? Friends would describe me as a man of integrity, who values honesty and empathy. I will always make time for someone who needs to chat about the struggles of life. I am meticulous, organised, introspective, and have a keen eye for details. I like to experiment in the kitchen - trying new recipes, baking, smoking meats and barbecuing, feeds my belly and my soul! I also have quite the collection of tropical plants, and love to spend time outdoors gardening.

Chief Executive OfficerNeoteric Innovations Corp. Apr 2003 - PresentNeoteric started as a small business in High School, born out of my love for all things technical in the theatre and entertainment industries. I had been working on various productions since my early teen years, filling many roles: technical director, lighting designer & technician, sound engineer, stage manager, even occasionally stepping in front of the lights as an actor in a few musicals. I dabbled in film a few times as an extra, and trainee assistant director. I started building custom audio cables for bands that I met while working at music festivals, servicing theatrical equipment for local schools and theatres, and eventually working as an electrical contractor. As an electrical and technology contractor with Neoteric, I worked with restoration companies to inspect and repair flood and fire damaged homes, I installed electrical and technology systems in new construction (residential and commercial), provided maintenance and rennovation services to commercial customers, became a certified integrator for a number of key manufacturers, built extensive relationships with suppliers, and was always on the lookout for the latest in products and industry trends. I was an early promoter of energy efficient lighting, providing premium solutions such as compact fluorescent lighting, LED lighting, and retrofits.I became known for my prompt responses to clients, fair pricing, and supplying innovative, reliable. easy to use systems that met budget constraints.Neoteric continues as a small side business, providing services to friends and local Churches. Some of the services we currently provide for our local Church are facility management, general maintenance, and project management. -
Master ElectricianTolko Industries Aug 2017 - May 2023High Level, Alberta, CanadaWorking with a diverse maintenance team, I supported operations at one of North America's largest dimensional lumber manufacturing facilities. This challenging environment encompassed several processes including raw log processing, lumber drying, finishing, and a biomass energy plant. My primary focus was maintaining operational up-time through preventative & predictive maintenance, routine inspections, troubleshooting, and consulting with operations and maintenance team members to identify opportunities for improvement. I gained experience with programmable logic controllers, human-machine interfaces, hydraulics, motion control, laser scanning and optimisation, 3D and camera based process control and power distribution.I also managed several smaller projects on a day-today basis; like, engineering and building a portable temporary power system, upgrading lighting, installing cable tray and replacing damaged cables, fire-stopping, installing exhaust and circulation fans and installing heating equipment. Although small, these projects still required active collaboration with the leadership team and other tradespeople, budgetting, planning & scheduling, specifying & ordering materials, creating drawings & written specifications, and pivoting when encountering unexpected issues. I also mentored apprentices, and assisted other electricians with selecting parts & planning repairs. I consistently brought new ideas to the table; such as, leveraging Microsoft Teams to improve departmental communication or suggesting alternative equipment/parts which could increase reliability. As a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee, I actively contributed to Tolko's safety culture. -

My other responsibilities included design & installation of the Videofied video-verified alarm systems, IP video surveillance systems, and access control systems.
