About Myles Perry

I am an electrical engineering and chemistry student at Old Dominion University. My research interests include microelectronic materials, non-Von Neumann computing architectures, and connecting science and engineering with the arts. I have completed an REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) program at the University of Michigan studying electrochemical microelectronics that aim to overcome the Von Neumann Bottleneck. While at Old Dominion University, I have assisted in multiple research labs. These labs have taught me PCB design, SEM operation, wet bench safety, technical communication, and various other skills. I am also the president of ODU’s Model United Nations Society and a member of the community group CIVIC Hampton Roads. In these roles I work to connect with people and ideas from outside of my areas of study.

Analyzing the data collected from this probing, I hypothesized improvements to device architecture, processing steps, and materials characteristics to improve performance. Through this process we learned about the behavior of solid-state ionic conductors, solid-state redox chemistry, and how we might apply this knowledge to create new advancements in microelectronics.
