- Preparation of drawings, technical specifications and coordination of geotechnical designs and geo‐hazard management.- Evaluate, design, stamps and implement site specific solutions for geotechnical concerns encountered during work associated with construction safety and stability during construction and warranty. COSIA-NSERC CRD on Long-term Settlement and Dewatering Performance of Oil-Sands Tailings.

Project: Dewatering, settlement, and rheology analysis of oil-sand tailings (COSIA-NSERC CRD on long term tailings performance). Duties: Research and development of tailings processing, improve flocculation, in-pipeline testing and observation, and laboratory testing and modelling.Achievements: • Improved processing techniques of oil-sand tailings, • Developed testing protocol of the geotechnical aspects of Oil-sand tailings. • Introduced innovative flocculation technique.• Developed on-line quality control of flocculation and in-real time observation system using a new torque measurement technique, • Designing and building an advanced Couette Rheometer for in-line rheology analysis. • Studied impact of shear rate and shear duration from pipeline transport on short and long-term dewatering and sedimentation of oil-sand tailings.

Achievements in Geotechnical field• Making US$ 1.5M for Gaowharat El-Moden Inc. in expanded foundation excavation plan from single excavation to comprehensive excavation after reporting presence of collapsible soil in the site of construction 400 residential units’ project. • Reviewed and corrected excavation depth and design for 3.5 km-long sewage pipeline after measuring a large overburden pressure that exceeded the radial capacity on compression of the used pipes. • Demonstrate Safety-First policy during the construction project of 3.5 km sewage pipeline by requiring using bracing retaining walls to support excavation that exceeded 5 m depth in loose silty sand.
