The National Coaliton Building Institute (NCBI) is a renowed, non-profit international leadership organization that builds Leadership for Diversity resource teams and customizes training as requested and collaborated on in diversity, equity and inclusion skills in communities, on college & university campuses, law enforcement & government agencies, non-profit organizatons and companies worldwide. Rooted in an understanding of individual, community, and systemic change NCBI leaders work with public and private organizations to further cultural competence, collaboration and partnerships and effective relationships within and across group identities dedicated to the elimination of racism, sexism, ageism and any and all other forms of oppression.NCBI takes a proactive approach that begins with one or more people from the organization or community settings noted above. These individuals are taught effective leadership skills in the areas of prejudice reduction, violence prevention, conflict resolution, and coalition building. Our programs enable leaders to take principled and courageous stands, enter the heat of emotionally-charged conflict to build bridges, and act as stalwart allies for all groups.Once a handful of like-minded leaders from an organization or community has been trained, a local NCBI resource team is formed. These teams offer 'prevention' driven strategies and programs to deal with discrimination and other inter-group tensions, are available to intervene when specific inter-group conflicts arise and NCBI Leadership remains a continuing part of the process. Over the past 30 years, NCBI has developed an international network of resource teams that has grown in influence and reach. NCBI currently is represented by over 100 teams in cities, on campuses, and in organizations around the world.
