I'm using my experience with Javascript/React/CSS to improve the developer experience at Binti and allow us to build more engaging web experiences than were possible with our former Rails monolith. As a team of one, I work on cross-cutting concerns such as:* Establishing a design system and reusable component library so that our engineers can focus on business problems and not UI-building problems* Setting up tools like Storybook for documentation, Chromatic for visual regression, Jest for unit testing and establishing good ergonomics and best practices around their use* Mentoring our broader engineering team about how to be more effective with FE development* Advocating for accessibility, performance, and aesthetics when participating in product scoping

At Earnest, in addition to building new products and features (Earnest does student loans), I worked on a number of projects supporting the transition away from an Angular monolith and towards a system built on Docker microservices and React. Projects I worked on:- A brand-new referral bonus program, and a dashboard in React with an unnoticeable transition away from the monolith- New underwriting tools separate from the monolith- Starting a library of React UI components for reuse across teams and applications- Launching and sunsetting (for business reasons) a home mortgage product- Launching their new Student Loan Origination product and associated new servicesWe faced challenges of engineering churn (primarily due to management) so I became an experienced interviewer and my level of responsibility steadily grew as time went on.

With the help of 5 engineers and a project manager: - Gathered requirements for necessary features in the Cloud Control Panel - Worked with engineers and UX to discover an appropriate solution - Prototyped new ideas to gauge feasibility and customer interest - Collaborated with internal and external stakeholders to validate ideas - Managed communications with support, QA, and marketing, and other product teamsTogether, we built glimpse.js - an open-source graphing library based on D3.js - and integrated it in the Cloud Control Panel. We have also been working on a new, un-finished product that will add substantial value to the Cloud Monitoring product at Rackspace.

Converted the backend software of an acquired startup (Cloudkick) to power the Rackspace Cloud Control Panel: - Improved several services written in Python using Twisted, MySQL, RabbitMQ, and Thrift - Wrote a system for real-time web notifications using WebSockets - Modified Chef and Jenkins infrastructure to streamline continuous integrationImplemented messaging and infrastructure provisioning APIs for the Email and Apps division of Rackspace in Python and Perl.

Managed two SharePoint clusters with several site collections; helped other interns explore various Linux configurations in search of an open desktop offering.

Wrote RSA SecurID+LDAP authentication for a SOA research project.

Wrote testing documents for, and supervised manual testing of, the OpenView NNM product.
