Taught students with mental retardation (term used at the time) in a hospital setting and students with learning disabilities in the resource room settling in a junior high school. Taught health, physical education and science in a junior high school. Moved to the high school level and taught Biology I, Biology II, Environmental Science, and created a course for college-bound juniors to help prepare them to take the ACT and choose a career. Worked as an administrative assistant in charge of attendance. Returned to the junior high level as a junior high level as a guidance counselor where I worked with individual students, test administration, 504, SBLC, Crisis Management, etc. Next, I moved to assistant principal where my primary responsibilities involved curriculum, instruction, and assessment. My final job with the school board was as principal of a junior high school.
