• Expand interpersonal and customer relations skills by interacting with patients• Ensure proper identification of patients• Collect and prepare blood specimens using venipuncture technique• Ensure the proper handling of each specimen and preserve the chain of custody when performing legal draws• Prepare patients for examinations, including blood pressure, pulse and temperature readings• Deliver specimens to appropriate departments• Dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments in compliance with OSHA regulations• Enter daily functions into database• Train new employees, including 30-day hands on training, patient walkthroughs and guidelines and procedures
