Hybrid Teaching

As a substitute teacher, I am able to come into a classroom and follow lesson plans, curriculum and the classroom teacher's expectations for me. I begin with reading over the plans thoroughly, looking at materials, and setting up whatever I need to necessary. I create a welcoming environment for the children by greeting them upon arrival, recognizing them and assisting them as needed. I like to check in with students and see how they are feeling currently, and to ensure that I am here for them. I implement positive reinforcement and high, but reasonable, classroom expectations. When applicable, I teach with a "I do, we do, they do, you do" method to ensure ultimate student understanding. Incase of moments where I need more for students to do, I come prepared with activities and games. Lastly, I leave detailed notes for the teacher, organize extra handouts/ assignments I collected, and clean up whenever necessary.

As a loan originator and personal banker, I was responsible for knowing all of the products U.S. Bank had to offer at the time, engage in conversation, assess customer needs, answer questions/ solve problems the customer may hold, and take applications. I was efficient with my time, but also provided excellent service to the customer. I engaged with all types of people while making them feel welcomed. I am proud of my customer surveys, which spoke to my willingness to go above and beyond for the customer while also making their experience enjoyable. For this position I teach reading, writing and math. I have a curriculum to follow and my own classroom in which I decorated and set up. I independently teach several classes (grades 1-6) throughout the day. In this classroom I had to assist the teacher in lessons, feeding, taking the students to the bathroom, monitoring, engaging with and keeping the students safe.
