As Litigation Legal Assistant, Trial Team, with Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, I maintained the newly established trial team department while operating in direct cooperation with executive leadership and the Partner. I initiated new practices and procedures for firm wide adoption. I delivered superior level outcomes and/or tangibles on time and within budget via project task prioritization. I supported colleagues during the arrangement and organization of notebooks and exhibits for trials, as well as throughout the inventory and summarization of case files.Some of my key accomplishments from this role include the following:- I assisted the firm owner in the creation of an entirely new department for this top personal injury firm of Louisiana via meetings with multiple senior attorneys and directors and communication with staff members at various levels.

In this role I was employed in the Trial Preparation department as a Litigation Legal Assistant. I assisted attorneys in court proceedings and trial prep, as well as coordinated trial meetings before trial dates. I also made sure the appropriate pleadings and motions were filed in court prior to the case deadlines.

As an office manager I was responsible for accounts payable and receivables, as well as invoicing and coding all transactions to the appropriate GL account. I filed all monthly and quarterly sales and use tax reports. I also served as the point of contact for all billing inquiries. My procurement responsibilities included inventory management, new vendor development, price negotiation and PO approvals and releasing. In addition to accounting duties I also served as the human resources coordinator for the office.

As a financial aid advisor I educated and assisted current and prospective students on our financial policies. I also made sure students stayed in compliance with their chosen financial aid options by providing timely and proactive assistance. I communicated and collaborated with internal departments to improve existing practices.
