About Myriam Herrera

There is nothing like a position with purpose. I’m fortunate enough to guide the next generation of Chicago’s leaders. I am an agent of change and growth. My primary function is to serve and learn from the young people and volunteers that have sustained this organization for over 100 years. Every day, I’m inspired by a story, a volunteer’s dedication, a Scout’s perseverance or a life the program has touched. In my day-to-day I’m looking to connect with those that are driven to serve for the sake of improving the lives of tomorrow’s youth. I invite you to help me prepare young people for life. It is a big bill to fill that takes many from all walks of life to meet the challenge. Specialties: Relationship development, marketing and multiculltural communications.

    I run three major industry events for the council. The Metals Industry Dinner has an international draw and is considered the most important social gathering of metals professionals in North America. The Construction Industry Dinner pulls in major players from around the Midwest that want to do business in Chicago. Normally these events are in the spring and attract over 1000 guests each. In 2021, Construction will be September 22nd and Metals will celebrate it's 50th anniversary on November 3rd.
