As a hybrid professional and a development practitioner,I hope to share my experiences and abilities in helping the under served find their voice, define and share their desires, integrate globally, and create sustainable positive evolutionary changeI was a Peace Corps Volunteer (1983-1985) in Niger West Africa, during one of the worst droughts. Since then I have been committed to creating income generating opportunities for people from Lessor Developed Countries (LDC) primarily in animal agriculture and related industries. I currently am working on developing the rabbit & chicken industries in Haiti with Makouti Agro Enterprises and Partners of the Americas Farmer to Farmer program. We are teaching farmers to raise rabbits as well as expanding the industry and developing related support services. This project entails everything from grant writing, leadership training,importing materials, to hands on animal management as well as mediation between US funders and Haitian beneficiaries. The interest and momentum is growing rapidly in both the production end and the marketing end. -
