First All-Female Relay Polar ExpeditionGuinness World Records Apr 1995 - Jul 1997UkIn 1997, 20 women became the first ever relay team to reach the Geographic North Pole. I was in the middle relay team, 'Team Charlie' we spent 3 weeks effectively treadmilling on open water, shifting ice chunks and pressure ridges reaching 20m high. This was a real test on resilience, patience, managing stress and conflict. We became the first all women relay team to walk to the geographic north pole pulling our own sledges of up to 150kg, and fully supported by an incredible team in UK and Canada.
