After college, I took a job as a file clerk at a law firm (there were no intentions of becoming a lawyer; I merely needed a job). File clerking is as mind numbing as it sounds; so, seeking to thaw my brain with a little challenge, I started learning basic scripting to automate repetitive tasks. This was the spark for what would soon become a great passion for programming and software development. Figuring I would be more satisfied (and better paid!) as a software developer, I decided a career change was in order, and dove into studying computer science.In July 2014, I joined Amazon as a Systems Engineer. My team builds internal operations-focused tools to support development teams in our organization. For the most part, these are internal web applications built with Ruby on Rails and AngularJS. Recently I have started to lead a few modest software projects, including an internal project management web app.
