In this project we are creating a simple web application that will help the fictional company C3 improve its data capturing abilities to increase sales, improve the efficiency of its shipping and inventory management, and for use as business intelligence. The project involves converting the company's current access database which data was previously input by hand into a user friendly web application used for real time data gathering and reporting. In my role as project manager I have used requirement information gathered from interviewing the client to create a business case for solving the customers issues in gathering crucial data for improving operations and sales. I plan for and manage risk, help create high level business models and edit and compile the info into consistent and presentable artifacts. After each iteration I along with select members of our team present the results of the iteration to the client for review.Methodologies and programs used:- Rational Unified Process- Microsoft Visio- Microsoft SQL server 2008 R2- Microsoft Access- Microsoft Visual StudioWhat I have gained from this experience- Basic application of the above programs- The ability to gather necessary information from interviewing clients- Effective time management and the importance of honouring deadlines

Rhynopack is an Edmonton start-up that sells, and rents out portable battery chargers. Currently focusing on music events and festivals the company is providing its products at events where potential customers are in a situation where they realize the need to charge ones phone and where being stuck at a wall is inconvenient. Duties and responsibilities-General planning with the Rhynopack team in regards to product design, company direction, promotions, and sales for this up and coming start-up. -Creating a simple access database for gathering data for use as business intelligence.-Sales of products at eventsWhat I have learned from this experience- Creative thinking about opportunities to market the product, and how to maximize potential income at events

Volunteering and Fundraising experienceHabitat for humanity- General labour in building homes for low income individuals and families.Grinder cup- This is an event held by my fraternity every year where we have a hockey tournament and hall party/ silent auction to fund raise for the ms society. I have helped acquire silent auction items, as well as gathered friends and family to attend the event.MS bike tour- In 2013 I raised funds and participated in the bike tour which raises money for the MS society.Boonstock music festival- Token selling and supervision of sales activities.Achievements-Helped raise over $30,000 in the 3 years our fraternity has held the grinder cup and participated in the bike tour.- Helped build 2 houses for low income individuals and families.- Helped involve friends and family in the fight against MS.

Maintained city of Edmonton parks and operated light machinery.What I have learned from this experience- How to efficiently navigate a list of sites- How change in technology can make labor jobs more efficient or less efficient depending on how it fits in with the organization.

In this project our team was to create a theoretical food truck business that would be successful in Edmonton's environment. In my role I: created the high level business case, performed market research, planned for risk, created use cases and activity diagrams for the analysis and design phases, edited and compiled the project into a presentable business case, and presented the project along with my team for review.
