In my role as Program Manager of the SafeWalk service, my work has centered around revitalizing the program's data collection and retention infrastructure along with expanding the program's reach across campus. Specifically, I was responsible for overseeing several projects including the creation of an online reservation system, as a part of an overhaul of the SafeWalk website, and the development of a mobile app to be used as another alternative method of contact. The reservation system has routinely produced 20% of all walk requests on a yearly basis since it was implemented. Additionally, I have managed program communication and financial planning internally within UNC Police and externally with other campus partners including Student Government, Student Affairs, and Carolina Housing.

At Lilly, I joined the HSE team and supported various projects at the RTP start-up facility. The primary deliverables for my internship were standardized templates for PPE signage and site-wide PPE maps. This project included the design of custom visuals using Adobe Illustrator to be used in the creation of these templates. In addition, I completed a chemical inventory for the site, providing hazard information including safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene considerations for over 300 chemicals present at the facility. This inventory supported an audit of the site's digital HAZCOM system and the submittal of the site's slug spill plan to Durham County.Other projects during my time at Lilly included: participation in various PSSRs and incident investigations, heat stress sampling at the site's central utilities plant, supporting the organization and submittal of DMRs in accordance with the site's IUP, & site waste-/stormwater sampling.

As a Manufacturing Operations Intern at Illumina, I assisted in implementing a labeling system for hazardous chemicals at the Madison site. I began this process by first compiling formulation data for all hazardous chemicals used and produced at the Madison site, which were then used to create safety data sheets that provided us with a better understanding of the scope and requirements of a new labeling system. The second step in this project consisted of meeting with internal stakeholders to collect feedback on what they would like to see or avoid in a labeling system. Finally, I synthesized stakeholder feedback and formulation data I collected, along with OSHA standards regarding hazard labeling, to recommend a compliant solution that minimally affected operational costs.

At Fiberon, I was tasked with launching the inaugural lockout-tagout program at one of the three New London manufacturing facilities and working with EHS and maintenance staff to perform the annual audit of existing lockout-tagout programs at the remaining two New London facilities. In addition to this work, I provided new-hire safety orientations for over 125 associates; designed improved templates for existing job safety and job hazard analysis forms using Microsoft Excel; and regularly audited associate PPE compliance, lockout-tagout cabinet inventories, along with the company-wide MSDS Online HAZCOM system.
