I am in charge of developer experience and education at the Urbit Foundation. We're building a new platform for modern secure computing.Formerly I taught computing with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois, including new courses in software development, introductory programming, computer-based research methodology, computational mechanics modeling, and Urbit.I've specialized in teaching and training engineers and scientists to do their work and research better since 2013. I have worked previously with Software Carpentry (now The Carpentries) and Computational Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois.My background is in nuclear engineering and chemical engineering. I came into my current work via scientific computing.I am deeply interested in organizational behavior and theory, engineering pedagogy, and the philosophy of science.
