Developing a curriculum for a minor in Molecular Biology for undergraduates. Teaching upper division immunology course to seniors and graduate students so that they learn and imbibe current practices in immunology. This course will help them appreciate not only the theoretical intricacies of molecular mechanisms, but also how these mechanisms can be applied both in treating patients and in the industry to design better treatment modalities.

My research interest encompass nutrigenomics and nutritional biochemistry as it applies to complex diseases such as cancer. While my expertise lies in biochemistry, molecular biology, high throughput screening, cell culture, microbiology and virology, I use the insights gleaned from these diverse disciplines to learn about interactive role of diet and genome.

Designed and lead experiments to fulfill the missions of the lab studying ovarian cancer. Managed lab resources. Analyzed data, lead writing of results including methods and discussions relevant to experimental outcomes. Wrote, edited and submitted grants for funding. Contributed significantly to establish Oregon Ovarian Cancer Registry

Investigated immune evasion by beta herpesviruses using a primate model. Established adenovirus vector mediated gene delivery system in the lab. Introduced bacterial two hybrid system.

Responsibilities: Investigated beta Herpesvirus infection at the maternal-fetal interface; Introduced viral vector mediated heterologous gene delivery using adenovirus vector system.

Responsibilities: Sequencing and RFLP analysis of insect resistant genes in rice genomes; General lab maintenance.
