As an inspiration ambassador, our main goal is to inspire the next generation of engineers that they can achieve whatever they want through activities that teach them STEM concepts while also providing a fun environment. Under this role, I am a First LEGO League Robotics coach for school children, meant to teach students from the Boston Public School system about engineering and to inspire them to pursue their goals, regardless of circumstance.

As an emergency medical technician (EMT), I am tasked with rendering patient care during emergency situations in the prehospital setting. Being an EMT has taught me how to perform under pressure and to work in a team setting. This position has also taught me valuable information about healthcare and how important it is to not only treat the physical injuries or illnesses, but also to provide comfort to the patient.

Conducted research under Michael Albro in Boston University's Growth Factor Mechanobiology Lab, where our focus lies in understanding the role of growth factors and how they interact with the extracellular matrix in the progression of osteoarthritis in the synovial joint, particularly as it pertains to Transforming Growth Factor-Beta (TGF-Beta), a multifunctional cytokine associated with regulation and repair of synovial joint tissues. I was tasked with conducting novel characterizations of TGF-Beta content in synovial joint tissues (e.g. cartilage, meniscus, tendon), and how the growth factor content of these tissues changes across parameters such as age, species, and tissue type. Skills included communication, experimental planning, data acquisition/analysis, tissue culture, ELISA, mechanical testing of cartilage, Picogreen DNA Assay.
