1. Responsible to the senior surveyor for the planning and processing of survey data through programs such as CARIS and ArcGIS, and for the supervision of survey system watch keepers. Systems include both Multi-beam and single-beam echo sounders (hull mounted and portable), Towed Light Weight Side Scan Sonars, forward looking sonars and various types of methods involving the acquisition of the velocity of sound through water. 2. Required to perform Geodetic Computations through the determination of angular measurements with an understanding of terrestrial GNSS surveying principles and acquiring the GNSS positions through static measurements.3. Connecting surveying marks ashore to tidal datum's and set up, deploy and recover tide gauges and current meters.4. Plan and identify seabed samples.5. Undertake duties on the ship's bridge as the surveyor of the watch in ensuring safe navigation and passage.

Act as day-to-day guide, interpreter and manager of both small and large tour groups. Dealing directly with the traveller's issues and concerns, ensuring that the passengers satisfaction is effectively achieved. Maintain an established travel itinerary as closely as possible, making changes only when necessary.Making reservations for accommodation, transportation and activities as required. Assist and accompany travellers during optional activities and meals and advise travellers on suitable restaurants, additional transport requirements, and purchase of souvenirs. Maintain daily expenditure accounts, retain receipts and keep expenses within the trip budget provided. Train new guides as required, passing on as much trip-related information as possible. Provide a running commentary on a wide variety of areas of interest, including those of an important cultural and historical significance, as well as the local flora and fauna. Areas and places included, but not limited to, Phillip Island, the Great Ocean Road, Grampians National Park, Blue Mountains, Snowy River National Park, Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide and the Barossa Valley.
