Managed, coached and mentored staff members assisting them in delivering department’s strategic directions and initiatives as well as in generating new ideas for event planning.Value Added: Established a Made for City of Brampton Guidelines Package which acted as an internal resource for staff members, allowing the concept to be expanded and made an outward facing document for all existing and new groups that wanted to host an event with the City of Brampton. Helped establish a new Fireworks bylaw to reflect Brampton’s rich cultural fabric. Achieved this by collaborating with leaders within the South Asian community, as well as the Fire Chief, achieving a substantial increase to public safety and a significant decrease in complaint calls after the bylaw’s roll out. Developed and managed a community outreach strategy to ensure collaboration with the community in the delivery of festivals and events. Acted as chair of the Community Grant Program from 2014 – 2016, providing leadership for the creation of a new, transparent, open and inclusive program. Educated community volunteers through workshops and acted as the City’s representative on multiple non-for-profit board of directors and event planning committee’s. Utilized a software provider to create an application for this concept. Managed a budget of $1,000,000. Participated as a core team member to create the Municipal Alcohol Policy (MAP); working closely with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) to develop policy to fit with the many large scale events, mitigating risk and liability for the municipality and event hosts.

Created a more approachable atmosphere for the City of Brampton, expanding on community involvement. Devised a strategy to advocate involving the City of Brampton to promote civic pride, city venue support, and positioning Brampton as a key event destination.

Prepared budgeting analysis for multiple facilities and forecasted revenues and expenditures for building infrastructure and improvements. Examined documents daily and monitored internal control procedures for inventory, cash, payroll, revenues and expenditures for completeness and accuracy and conformance to corporate policies and procedures. Implemented and executed training sessions on new and existing policies and procedures to staff members.Contribute to team of facility professionals through meeting particpation, acting as committee chairperson, and leading facility and program initiaves in support of department objectives.
