Naama Ben-Zvi is the Biometrics Commissioner of Israel and the Head of the Identity & Biometric Applications Unit ,a division within the National Cyber Directorate (INCD) in the Prime Minister Office of Israel.Naama joined the Prime Minister's Office Legal Department in 2008. More than a decade ago, she played a key role in the establishment of the Identity & Biometric Applications Unit and held the position of the Unit's legal advisor for seven years. Her work included responsibility for all legal aspects and privacy aspects of the unit's missions in the field of biometric applications in Israel regarding Government, public and private sectors. In 2019-2022, Naama served as Department Manager of biometric Projects, a position that combines both policy making and project management and in 2022-2023 She served as Director of Oversight & Compliance, responsible for National Biometric projects supervision, and holds responsibility for the Policy and Guidelines of the Unit. Naama was appointed as Biometrics Commissioner and head of the Unit on October 1th 2023. She is also the Gender Equality officer at INCD, in that capacity she is responsible for promoting and monitor equal opportunity and gender sensitivity within the organization. On November 2023, Naama joined the Biometrics Institute Board of directors.Naama received her LLB degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2002 and her LLM degree from Bar-Ilan University in 2018, a member of the Israeli Bar Association since 2003, a certified Information System Analyst (Technion-Israel institute of technology) and an IEEE certified Biometrics Professional.
