SparkIL was established by the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Ogen group as a unique Internet-based peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform combining social impact investing and Israel engagement. The platform helps small, micro and social businesses in Israel’s geographic and social periphery by providing crowdfunded interest-free loans.The loans are designed to address “the market failure” experienced when these businesses seekcredit from other sources. They do so by harnessing an innovative Internet-based platform forconnecting the businesses to social lenders and investors from Israel and world Jewry – a sort ofnew “digital Zionism.”This connection will not only provide funding, but also create a “personal encounter” – the platformenables direct connectivity between borrowers and lenders, with the goal of generating a socialand personal connection.

The Israeli-American Council (IAC) is the largest Israeli-American organization in the United States,serving this vibrant sector of American society. Its mission is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens our next generations, the American Jewish community and theState of Israel.The organization was established in LA. Three years ago I launched the first IAC branch out of LA, inBoston. Over 30,000 of the 300 thousand American Jews living in Greater Boston area are IsraeliAmericans. Nowadays, there are 12 active regions throughout the United States.My responsibilities as Regional Director include:• Establishing the Boston chapter: strategic planning, working hand in hand with board ofdirectors, donors and decision makers.• Identifying, recruiting and training community leaders to engage in social change (‘Gvanim’leadership program).• In charge of expanding ‘Gvanim’ to all the regions of the organization.• Initiating and Implementing programs focusing on strengthening Israeli and Jewish identity of the next generation. Today there are 10 running programs and 25 community initiatives led by over 150 community members and volunteers.• Creating partnerships with 50 varied Israeli, Israeli-American and Jewish American organizations.• Creating a fundraising plan.
